Estes Express makes a business out of beating expectations. Founded during the Depression with a Chevy truck, the company has grown into a multiregional less-than-truckload (LTL) freight hauler. (LTL carriers consolidate freight from multiple shippers into a single trailer.) Its fleet of some 7,700 tractors and 22,760 trailers operates via a network of 210 terminals dotting the US. Service in Canada is provided by TST Overland Express, an ExpressLINK partner. Estes Express works with designated carriers to offer door-to-door delivery in the Caribbean and in Mexico. Subsidiary Estes Forwarding Worldwide services ocean/air freight forwarding. The company is owned and run by the family of founder W.W. Estes.
