First Chester County Corporation, is a bank holding company. The principal activities of the Company are the owning and supervising of First National Bank of Chester County (the Bank), which engages in a general banking business based in Chester County, Pennsylvania. The Company directs the policies and coordinates the financial resources of the Bank. The Bank is a locally managed community bank providing loan, deposit, cash management, trust, investment and mortgage banking services from its twenty five locations. The Bank encounters vigorous competition for market share in the communities it serves from bank holding companies, other community banks, Internet banks, thrift institutions, credit unions and other non-bank financial organizations such as mutual fund insurance, brokerage companies, and mortgage banking operations. On December 31, 2008, the Corporation completed its acquisition of American Home Bank, National Association (AHB).
