First Financial Holdings, Inc. (First Financial) is a savings, loan holding and a financial holding company. It operates principally through First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Charleston (First Federal). First Financial's subsidiaries provide a range of financial services, including banking, cash management, retail investment services, mortgage banking, insurance, and trust and investment management services. First Financial conducts business through 38 service retail branch sales offices, 16 in-store (Wal-Mart Supercenters and Kroger Grocery stores) retail branch sales offices, and four limited services branches located in counties, such as Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester, Hilton Head area of Beaufort County, Georgetown, Horry, Florence and the Sunset Beach area of Brunswick County, North Carolina.
