Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited (Fairfax) is a financial services holding company which, through its subsidiaries, is engaged in property and casualty insurance and reinsurance and investment management. The segments of Fairfax are Canadian insurance, United States insurance, Asian insurance, reinsurance, runoff and others. In November 2008, the Company acquired a 67.9% interest in Ridley Inc. (Ridley) from Ridley Corporation Limited. On January 7, 2009, the Company completed the acquisition of Polskie Towarzystwo Reasekuracji Spolka Akcyjna, a Polish reinsurance and insurance company. As of August 21, 2009, Fairfax had acquired approximately 98.04% interest in Advent Capital Holdings plc. As of September 4, 2009, the Company owned approximately 72.6% interest in Odyssey Re Holdings Corp.
