Far West Mining Ltd. is a mineral exploration company primarily engaged in the evaluation, acquisition and exploration of mineral properties in Chile and Australia. As of December 31, 2008, the Company focused on advancing the Santo Domingo Project in Chile. The Company is exploring for iron-oxide hosted copper-gold (IOCG) deposits in the Candelaria Copper Belt of northern Chile. In December 2008, the Company acquired 55 new exploration claims in the IOCG (iron-oxidecopper-gold) belt of Chile. The claims cover an area of approximately 16,000 hectares. As of December 31, 2008, the Santo Domingo Project Area is comprised of 132 mineral concessions covering 35,623 hectares. It holds an additional 25 mineral concessions covering 7,500 hectares in the Candelaria Belt outside of the Santo Domingo Project area. The Company is also exploring for Broken Hill Type (BHT) deposits in the Georgetown area of northern Queensland, Australia.
