First Midwest Bancorp, Inc. is a bank holding company with operations throughout the greater Chicago metropolitan area as well as northwest Indiana, central and western Illinois, and eastern Iowa. The Company�s principal subsidiary is First Midwest Bank (the Bank), which provides a range of commercial and retail banking and wealth management services to consumer, corporate, and public or governmental customers. It focuses on meeting the financial needs of the people and businesses in the communities where it lives and works by providing customized banking solutions, products, and services that fulfill those financial needs. The Company provides various services to its subsidiaries, establishes Company-wide policies and procedures, and provides other resources as needed, including capital. In August 2014, Popular Community Bank, Popular, Inc.'s United States banking subsidiary, sold its Illinois regional operations to the Bank.
