Jersey Shore Steel Company still manufactures rail steel as it did when it was founded in 1938. Today, however, the money is in angle steel, posts, and shelving products. The company's largest customers are in the bed frame and furniture industries. Its fabricated steel angles are manufactured to customer specifications and used in such applications as fencing, garage door supports, highway signs, and shelving. Jersey Shore Steel's annual steel rail capacity is around 170,000 tons. The company was founded by John A. Schultz in 1938 and continues to be a family owned and operated.
