Not to say that it goes to the pub again and again, but Harris Steel Group does like to make rebar. The company purchases steel from mills and processes it through subsidiaries Harris Rebar, Laurel Steel, and Fisher & Ludlow. It fabricates concrete reinforcing steel, manufactures epoxy-coated reinforcing steel and concrete post tension systems, and designs and distributes wire, wire products, and cold finished bar. It also makes aluminum grating, heavy industrial steel grating, and expanded metal. Harris Steel Group primarily does business in Canada and the US. Its Harris Supply Solutions unit distributes steel in the US. In 2007, Nucor paid $1 billion to buy Harris.
