HealthShares Emerging Cancer ETF (the Fund) is one in a series of HealthShares exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that are organized vertically by therapeutic categories in pharmaceuticals, healthcare services, life sciences and biotechnology. The Fund seeks investment results that correspond to the performance of HealthShares Emerging Cancer Index (the Index), an equity index of publicly traded common stocks and American depository receipts (ADRs). The Index invests in pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies that have been identified as emerging cancer companies. Companies included in the Index are engaged in the research, clinical development and/or commercialization of therapeutic agents for the treatment of a variety of cancers. Companies in this index generally include those with some level of revenues, or those on the verge of revenues with significant but focused research and development programs.
