(Alibaba Japan), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company engages in the provision of Japanese language B2B services on a site with the uniform resource locator www.alibaba.co.jp. On May 30, 2008, the Company entered into an agreement with SOFTBANK CORP. (SOFTBANK) under which SOFTBANK made investment into Alibaba Japan for a 64.7% interest. Alibaba.com will develop the Japanese B2B marketplace with SOFTBANK via Alibaba Japan.
