Bank of China Limited is engaged in the provision of a range of banking and related financial services, including commercial banking, investment banking and insurance business. The Bank operates through six segments: corporate banking, personal banking, treasury operations, investment banking, insurance and other operations. As of December 31, 2008, the Bank had 10,789 domestic and overseas branches, subsidiaries and outlets, including 9,983 branches, subsidiaries and outlets in the Chinese Mainland and 806 branches, subsidiaries and representative offices in Hong Kong, Macau and other countries and regions.
