Hong Kong Highpower Technology, Inc. operates through its wholly owned subsidiary Hong Kong Highpower Technology Company Limited (HKHT) and its wholly owned subsidiaries Shenzhen Highpower Technology Co., Ltd. (Shenzhen Highpower), HZ Highpower Technology Co., Ltd. (HZ Highpower) and Springpower Technology (Shenzhen) Company Limited (formerly Sure Power Technology (Springpower). Through Shenzhen Highpower, the Company manufactures Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) rechargeable batteries for both consumer and industrial applications. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company commenced manufacturing Lithium-ion (Li-ion) rechargeable batteries through Springpower. The Company produces a line of batteries, falling into two categories: consumer batteries and industrial batteries. It produces A, AA and AAA sized batteries packing, as well as chargers and battery packs. Industrial batteries are designed for electric bikes, power tools and electric toys.
