Description

Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. operates as a self-managed and self-administered real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company owns properties and conducts operations through Host Hotels & Resorts, L.P., of which Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. is the sole general partner, and in which it holds approximately 97% of the partnership interests. As of February 23, 2009, the Company's lodging portfolio consisted of 116 luxury and upper-upscale hotels containing approximately 63,000 rooms. Its portfolio is geographically diverse with hotels in most of the metropolitan areas in 26 states, Washington; Toronto and Calgary, Canada; Mexico City, Mexico, and Santiago, Chile. Additionally, the Company owned a 32.1% interest in a joint venture in Europe that owns 11 luxury and upper-upscale hotels containing approximately 3,500 rooms located in cities in Italy, Spain, Poland, Belgium, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom. On February 17, 2009, the Company disposed of the Hyatt Regency Boston.
