Hutchison Whampoa Limited (HWL) is an investment holding company. The operations of the Company consist of five businesses: ports and related services; property and hotels; retail; energy and infrastructure finance and investments other options, and telecommunications. HWL is a container terminal operator holding interests in 49 ports, including 300 berths in 25 countries, including container terminals. The Company develops and invests in real estate projects, ranging from office buildings to residential properties. The retail operations for the Company range from personal care, health and beauty chains, luxury perfumeries and cosmetics retailing supermarkets, consumer electronics and electrical appliances retail chains and airport retail concessions. Its investments in energy and infrastructure are in Hong Kong, the Mainland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United Kingdom. Effective October 5, 2009, Avnet, Inc. acquired controlling interest in Vanda Group from the Company.
