International Fight League, Inc. (IFLI) through its subsidiary IFL Corp. (IFLC) operated a sports entertainment business. The business used its mixed martial arts (MMA) sports league, known as the International Fight League or the IFL, as a platform to generate revenues from spectator attendance at live events, broadcast of television programming, sponsorships and licensing. At the conclusion of this Grand Prix tournament, it had belt holders for six different weight divisions. On September 30, 2008, IFLC voluntarily filed a petition for reorganization relief under chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
