Description

Independence Federal Savings Bank (the Bank) is a federal stock savings bank. The Bank's principal business is obtaining funds in the form of deposits and other borrowings and investing such funds in residential real estate loans, guaranteed student loans, mortgage-backed securities, government agency securities, and to a lesser extent, consumer loans, commercial loans and construction loans. Its primary line of business is lending. The Bank has 100% interest in its only subsidiary, Independence Financial Corporation. The Bank operates two branch offices in northwest Washington, one in Chevy Chase, Maryland and one in Silver Spring, Maryland. The Bank’s geographic market area extends throughout the greater Washington metropolitan area, including suburban Maryland and Northern Virginia.
