iShares S&P North American Technology Sector Index Fund (the Fund), formerly iShares S&P GSTI Technology Index Fund, seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance of the S&P North American Technology Sector Index (the Index). The Index is designed to measure the performance of United States-traded technology-related stocks, and includes companies in categories, such as producers of computer-related devices; communication equipment and Internet services; producers of computer and Internet software; consultants for information technology; providers of computer services, and semiconductor equipment manufacturers. The Index is a modified market capitalization-weighted index and component companies must meet objective criteria for inclusion. The Fund invests in a representative sample of securities included in the Index that collectively has an investment profile similar to the Index.
