IQE plc is engaged in the manufacture of advanced semiconductor materials. The Company operates in three segments: wireless, optoelectronics, and electronics. Its wireless wafer products are used by its customers to manufacture radio frequency (RF) devices known as pseudomorphic High Electron Mobility Transistors (pHEMTs), Heterojunction Bipolar Transistors (HBTs) and advanced integrated components combining both pHEMTs and HBTs called BiFETs or BiHEMTs. Optoelectronics products are found in a range of applications, which includes advanced laser applications, optical data storage, fibre optic communications, solid state lighting and solar cells. Its electronics business provides advanced epitaxy services on silicon.
