Description

iRobot Corporation (iRobot) designs and builds robots. The Company's Roomba floor vacuuming robots, Scooba floor washing robot and Looj gutter cleaning robot perform domestic chores. Its PackBot and small unmanned ground vehicle (SUGV) tactical ground military robots perform battlefield reconnaissance and bomb disposal. Its Negotiator ground robot performs multi-purpose tasks for local police and first responders. iRobot’s Seaglider unmanned underwater robot performs oceanic missions. The Company sells its robots to consumers through a variety of distribution channels, including chain stores and other national retailers, and its online store, and to the United States military and other government agencies worldwide. The Company’s AWARE Robot intelligence systems enable the behavioral control of robots. In September 2008, the Company acquired Nekton Research, LLC (Nekton), an unmanned underwater robot technology company.
