Ivanhoe Energy Inc. is an independent international heavy oil development and production company. During the year ended December 31, 2008, Company acquired two leases located in the Athabasca oil sands region in Alberta, Canada. Its core operations are in the Canada, United States and China. The Company operates in four reportable business segments: Oil and Gas - Integrated, Oil and Gas - Conventional, Business and Technology Development and Corporate. In July 2009, the Company sold its United States oil and gas operations to Seneca South Midway LLC, a subsidiary of Seneca Resources Corporation.
