Standard Bank Group Limited is the holding company for Standard Bank Group of companies. The Company operates in three business segments. The Personal & Business Banking segment provides banking and other financial services to individual customers and small-to medium sized enterprises throughout South Africa, rest of Africa, as well as Argentina. The Corporate & Investment Banking segment provides commercial and investment banking services to larger corporates, financial institutions and international counterparties, in South Africa and other markets. The Central and other segment includes includes the impact of the Tutuwa initiative and group capital instruments. As of July 18, 2008, the Company had acquired 98.93% interest in Liberty Holdings Limited.
