Nuveen Quality Preferred Income Fund (the Fund) is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund seeks to provide high current income consistent with capital preservation by investing primarily in a portfolio of preferred securities and debt securities, including convertible debt securities and convertible preferred securities. The Fund invests at least 80% of managed assets in taxable preferred securities that, at the time of investment, are rated investment grade (Baa/BBB or better). It may invest up to 20% of managed assets in debt securities, including convertibles, rated investment grade at the time of investment. The Fund is also authorized to invest in interest rate swap transactions and futures contracts. The Fund’s investment advisor is Nuveen Asset Management. Its sub-advisor is Spectrum Asset Management, Inc.
