Description

James River Group Holdings, Ltd. is a Bermuda-based insurance holding company. The Company owns and operates insurance and reinsurance companies. It operates in in four segments namely Excess and Surplus Lines (E&S), Specialty Admitted Insurance, Casualty Reinsurance, and Corporate and other. E&S segment underwrites non-admitted business through its subsidiaries, James River Insurance and James River Casualty. E&S also underwrites property-casualty insurance in all states and the District of Columbia. Specialty admitted insurance segment has three business lines namely workers� compensation insurance for residential contractors in North Carolina, program business written through general agents and fronting arrangements. Casualty reinsurance segment operates through its subsidiary, JRG Re, which provides proportional and working layer insurance to third parties and to its United States-based insurance subsidiaries. Corporate and other segment sets and directs strategy for the Company.
