Cardinal Ethanol, LLC (Cardina) was organized for the purpose of raising capital to develop, construct, own and operate a 100 million gallon per year ethanol plant in east central Indiana near Union City, Indiana. In August 2010, it obtained permit allowing it to manufacture 140 million gallons ethanol. The products it is producing at the plant are fuel-grade ethanol and distillers grains. In addition, it is extracting corn oil for sale. Raw carbon dioxide gas is another co-product of the ethanol production process. It has an agreement with EPCO Carbon Dioxide Products, Inc. (EPCO) carbon dioxide products to capture the raw carbon dioxide it produces at the plant.
