American Life Insurance Company (Pakistan) Limited (ALICO) is engaged in life insurance, carrying on both participating and non-participating business. The Company has established a Shareholders' Fund and seperate Statutory Funds, in respect of each class of life insurance business. The Statutory Funds established by the Company include Life (participating), Life (non-participating) - Individual, Life (non-participating) - Group, Accident and Health - Individual, Accident and Health - Group, Pension Business Fund, and Investment Linked. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company introduced new products, under which benefits are payable with reference to underlying investments (Investment Linked). The Company has established seperate statutory fund for this business.
