Lance, Inc., manufactures, markets and distributes a variety of snack food products, including sandwich crackers and sandwich cookies, potato chips, crackers, cookies, other salty snacks, sugar wafers, nuts, restaurant-style crackers and candy. In addition, the Company purchases certain cakes, meat snacks, candy, restaurant style crackers and salty snacks for resale. Products are packaged in various single-serve, multi-pack and family-size configurations. Lance manufactures approximately 97% of all of the products it sells and the remainder is purchased for resale. In March 2008, the Company acquired privately held Brent & Sam's, Inc., a producer of branded and private-label gourmet cookies. In December 2008, the Company acquired Archway Cookies, LLC.
