The Game Group plc is a specialist personal computer (PC) and video games retailer trading through retail outlets and eCommerce sites. As of January 31, 2009, the Company operated in five European territories and in Australia, with 696 stores throughout the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, 193 in France, 263 in Iberia, 66 in Scandinavia, 22 in the Czech Republic and 102 in Australia, as well as operating eCommerce sites, including game.co.uk, gameplay.com and gamestation.co.uk. As of January 31, 2009, the Company operated 1,342 stores. The Company, along with a complement of console bundles, also offers a range of software and peripherals, including its own brand accessories. On August 21, 2008, it acquired 100% of JRC Czech a.s. (JRC), the Czech-based PC and video games retailer.
