Tanzanite One Limited mines, distributes and sells tanzanite. The Company is also involved with the exploration for other colored gemstones. The Company operates in two segments: rough tanzanite, which includes the extraction and sale of rough tanzanite, and cut and polished tanzanite and jewellery, which includes purchase and resale of cut and polished tanzanite and jewellery. Through its subsidiary, TanzaniteOne Mining Limited, the Company holds the mining license over a property containing a significant portion of tanzanite resource, as well as prospecting licenses over potential tanzanite-producing properties adjoining its mining license area. The Company also conducts outside buying, operates beneficiation facilities, manages tanzanite grading and certification, and markets both rough and polished tanzanite, as well as exploration for other coloured gemstones. On March 18, 2009, the Company completed the acquisition of Tsavorite Project, located in North East Tanzania.
