United Carpets Group plc is a United Kingdom-based company engaged in carpet and bed retailing and franchising of retail outlets. As of March 31, 2012, the Company operated 66 United Carpets branded stores across its areas of operation in Northern and Central England, of which 15 are corporate stores and 51 are operated on a franchise basis. The majority of Company's revenues are derived from the sale of floor coverings, predominantly carpet, laminate and vinyl flooring through franchised stores and its own corporate stores. The Company operates in four segments: Franchising, Retail, Beds and Warehouse. The Company's subsidiaries include United Carpets Limited and United Carpets (Northern) Limited. On October 4, 2012, administrators were appointed to the Company�s subsidiary, United Carpets (Northern) Limited (UCN). Following the administration of UCN, certain of the assets and trade of UCN were acquired from the administrators by United Carpets Ltd, a subsidiary of the Company.
