MedCath Corporation is a healthcare provider and is focused on providing acuity services, including the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The Company owns and operate hospitals in partnership with physicians. The Company has ownership interests in and operate 10 hospitals, including eight, in which the Company owns a majority interest. Each of the Company’s hospitals has a 24-hour emergency room staffed by emergency department physicians. The hospitals, in which the Company has ownership interests are located in seven states: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Louisiana, New Mexico, South Dakota and Texas. In October 2009, the Company opened a new acute care hospital in Kingman, Arizona. In addition to the Company’s hospitals, the Company owns and/or manage 16 cardiac diagnostic and therapeutic facilities. 10 of these facilities are located at hospitals operated by other parties.
