Herman Miller, Inc. researches, designs, manufactures and distributes office furniture systems, products and related services. Most of these systems and products are designed to be used together. The Company’s primary products include furniture systems, seating, storage and material handling solutions, freestanding furniture and case goods. The Company operates through two primary business segments. The North American Furniture Solutions segment includes the operations associated with the design, manufacture and sale of furniture products for work-related settings, including office and healthcare environments, throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. The non-North American Furniture Solutions segment includes the operations associated with the design, manufacture and sale of furniture products, primarily for work-related settings, outside of North America. Herman Miller, Inc. also reports an Other category consisting primarily of its North American Home and start-up businesses.
