Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. is a producer of aggregates for the construction industry, including infrastructure, commercial, agricultural, and residential. The Company operates in four business segments: the Mideast Group, Southeast Group, and West Group, collectively the Aggregates business, and the Specialty Products segment. The Specialty Products segment includes the magnesia-based chemicals and dolomitic lime businesses, and the structural composites product line. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company’s Aggregates business accounted for 91% of the Company’s total net sales, and its Specialty Products segment accounted for 9% of the Company’s total net sales.
