Description

Motorcar Parts of America, Inc. (MPA) is engaged in the remanufacturing and distributing alternators and starters for imported and domestic cars and light trucks. Its line of light duty alternators and starters are sold to most of the auto parts retail chains in the United States and Canada, including AutoZone, Pep Boys, and O’Reilly Automotive (including CSK Automotive). Its business is focused on the do-it-yourself (DIY) market, customers who buy remanufactured alternators and starters at an auto parts store and install the parts themselves. On May 16, 2008, the Company completed the acquisition of certain assets of Automotive Importing Manufacturing, Inc. (AIM). On August 22, 2008, the Company completed the acquisition of certain assets of Suncoast Automotive Products, Inc. In August 2009, the Company completed the acquisition of certain assets of Reliance Automotive, Inc., a privately held remanufacturer of alternators and starters based in East Berlin, Connecticut.
