The fundamental investment objective of Mutual Beacon Fund is capital appreciation with income as the secondary objective. The fund seeks to achieve its objectives by investing primarily in equity securities in the United States, however, it may also hold income generating bonds. In order to add value to the fund's portfolio, Mutual Beacon Fund can invest in equity securities outside of the United States. Franklin Mutual Advisers, Inc.'s investment strategy is simple - they are value investors for bull and bear markets. They anticipate and plan for the reality of good and bad markets and they believe investors should do the same. As they do not profess to predict market movements, they will not sacrifice capital preservation for highly speculative capital appreciation. Mutual Beacon Fund is designed for bad markets as well as good.
