BlackRock MuniVest Fund II, Inc. (the Fund) is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund seeks to provide a high level of current income exempt from federal income taxes by investing primarily in a portfolio of long-term, investment-grade municipal obligations, the interest on which is exempt from federal income taxes. It may invest in zero-coupon bonds. The Fund may invest in various derivative instruments, including swap agreements and futures, and other instruments. It invests in sectors, such as health, corporate, transportation, utilities, education, housing and tobacco. The Fund’s investment advisor is BlackRock Advisors, LLC, an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of BlackRock, Inc. The Fund’s sub-advisor is BlackRock Investment Management, LLC (BIM), an affiliate of the advisor.
