MeadWestvaco Corporation (MWV) is a global packaging company that provides packaging solutions to many of the world’s brands in the healthcare, personal and beauty care, food, beverage, tobacco, media and entertainment, and home and garden industries. MWV’s other business operations serve the consumer and office products, specialty chemicals, forestry and real estate markets. The Company operates in five business segments: Packaging Resources, Consumer Solutions, Consumer and Office Products, Specialty Chemicals, and Community Development and Land Management. On July 1, 2008, the Company completed the selling of its Kraft business. In October 2009, the Company sold its Paxonix business to software development services company, Persistent Systems.
