Aware, Inc., (Aware) is a supplier of signal processing and digital communications technology for imaging and telecommunications applications. The Company�s business operation focuses on three product lines: biometrics and imaging, digital subscriber line (DSL) service assurance and patent management. It operates in two segments: Biometrics & Imaging and DSL Service assurance. It sells software products for biometrics and imaging applications, and hardware and software products for DSL service assurance applications. As of December 31, 2011, it had 235 United States and foreign patents, and approximately 219 pending patent applications pertaining to communications and signal processing technologies, including DSL, DSL service assurance, biometrics imaging, medical imaging, image compression, and seismic data compression. In September 2012, the Company sold of selected patents and patent applications to TQ Delta, LLC. The patents and patent applications relate to DSL technology.
