Description

The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (NASDAQ OMX) is a holding company. NASDAQ OMX is a global exchange group that delivers trading, clearing, exchange technology, regulatory, securities listing, and public company services across six continents. Its global offerings are diverse and include trading and clearing across multiple asset classes, market data products, financial indexes, capital formation solutions, financial services and market technology products and services. Its technology supports cash equity trading, derivatives trading, clearing and settlement, and many other functions. The Company operates in three segments: Market Services, Issuer Services and Market Technology. In the United States, it operates The NASDAQ Stock Market LLC (The NASDAQ Stock Market), a registered national securities exchange. In July 2012, the Company acquired NOS Clearing, a Norway-based clearinghouse primarily for OTC traded derivatives for the freight market and seafood derivatives market.
