In March 2009, it acquired the non core electrophoresis business from NextGen Group plc. In March 2009, the Company acquired Sigal Ltda, its primary distributor in Chile, and established Sigma-Aldrich Quimica Ltda.In August 2009, the Company acquired ChemNavigator.com, Incorporated.
