United PanAm Financial Corp. is a specialty finance company engaged in automobile finance, which includes purchasing and servicing of automobile installment sales contracts, originated by independent and franchised dealers of used automobiles. The Company conducts its automobile finance business through its wholly owned subsidiaries United Auto Credit Corporation (UACC) and United Auto Business Operations, LLC (UABO), which provide financing to borrowers who have limited or impaired credit histories that restrict their ability to obtain loans through traditional sources. As of December 31, 2008, UACC was a direct wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, and UABO, UPFC Auto Receivables Corporation (UARC), UPFC Auto Financing Corporation (UAFC) and UPFC Funding Corporation (UFC) were direct wholly owned subsidiaries of UACC.
