American National Bankshares Inc. is a bank holding company. American National Bank and Trust Company is the only banking subsidiary of the Company. The operations of the Company are conducted at 25 banking offices and two loan production offices in Roanoke, Virginia and Raleigh, North Carolina. American National Bank provides a range of financial products and services, including commercial, mortgage, and consumer banking; trust and investment services, and insurance. Services are also provided through 31 automated teller machines (ATMs), AmeriLink Internet banking, and 24-hour Access American telephone banking. On July 1, 2011, the Company completed its merger with MidCarolina Financial Corporation (MidCarolina). MidCarolina is engaged in banking operations through its subsidiary bank, MidCarolina Bank.
