Description

Amyris, Inc., formerly Amyris Biotechnologies, Inc. develops and provides renewable compounds for a variety of markets. As of December 31, 2012, the Company built and applied its industrial synthetic biology platform to provide alternatives to petroleum-sourced products used in specialty chemical and transportation fuel markets worldwide. The Company is focused on developing a range of products to address six markets: cosmetics, lubricants, flavors and fragrances, polymers, consumer products and transportation fuels. The Companys call these No Compromise products because it design them to perform comparably to, or better than, available products. It genetically modifies micro organisms, primarily yeast, and uses them as living factories in established fermentation processes to convert plant-sourced sugars into thousands of molecules. The Company has two operating subsidiaries, Amyris Brasil Ltda. (formerly Amyris Brasil S.A.), or Amyris Brasil, and Amyris Fuels LLC, or Amyris Fuels.
