BancTrust Financial Group, Inc. (BancTrust) is a bank holding company. The Company operates a subsidiary bank, BankTrust, (the Bank). The Company, through the Bank, is engaged in community banking activities and serves through 15 counties in central and south Alabama and three counties in the western panhandle of Florida. The Bank provides a range of community banking services to commercial, small business and retail customers, offering a variety of transaction and savings deposit products, treasury management services, investment brokerage and insurance services, secured and unsecured loan products, including revolving credit facilities, and letters of credit and similar financial guarantees. The Bank also provides trust and investment management services to retirement plans, corporations and individuals. The Bank operates 50 bank offices. Effective February 15, 2013, Trustmark Corp merged with BancTrust.
