China Sunergy Co., Ltd. (China Sunergy) manufactures its solar cells from silicon wafers utilizing crystalline silicon solar cell technology to convert sunlight directly into electricity through a process known as the photovoltaic effect. The Company sold its solar cell products to Chinese and overseas module manufacturers and system integrators, who assemble its solar cells into solar modules and solar power systems for use in various markets. Its end-products include solar cells and modules in different sizes and power outputs. The Company sells solar cells and modules under the brands of CSUN and CEEG. During the year ended December 31, 2010, the Company installed three new solar cell lines for the production of selective emitter cells. As of December 31, 2010, it had 13 solar cell manufacturing lines with an aggregate manufacturing capacity of 404 megawatts per year. On November 1, 2010, the Company acquired SST and NRE.
