Description

Dime Community Bancshares, Inc. is a parent company of The Dime Savings Bank of Williamsburgh (the Bank), a federally-chartered stock savings bank. As of December 31, 2011, the Bank operated 26 full-service retail banking offices located in the New York City (NYC) boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx, and in Nassau County, New York. The Bank�s principal business has been, and continues to be, gathering deposits from customers within its market area, and investing them in multifamily residential mortgage, commercial real estate, one- to four-family residential mortgage, construction and land acquisition, and consumer loans, mortgage-backed securities (MBS), obligations of the United States Government and Government Sponsored Entities (GSEs), and corporate debt and equity securities. The Bank�s revenues are derived from interest on its loan and securities portfolios and other short-term investments.
