Delta Natural Gas Company, Inc., is engaged in distributing or transporting natural gas to approximately 36,000 customers. The Company operates in two segments: regulated segment and a non-regulated segment. The Company�s distribution and transmission systems are located in central and southeastern Kentucky, and it owns and operates an underground storage field in southeastern Kentucky. The Company transports natural gas to its industrial customers who purchase their natural gas in the open market and the Company transports natural gas on behalf of local producers and customers not on its distribution system. The Company has three wholly owned subsidiaries. Delta Resources, Inc. (Delta Resources) buys natural gas and resells it to industrial or other customers on Delta's system. Delgasco, Inc. (Delgasco) buys natural gas and resells it to Delta Resources and to customers not on Delta's system. Enpro, Inc. (Enpro) owns and operates production properties and undeveloped acreage.
