The Company is established to achieve a high level of current income by investing in debt securities, consisting of senior notes, senior subordinated notes and junior subordinated notes, of private businesses that are substantially owned by leveraged buyout funds, individual investors or are family-owned businesses, with a focus on senior notes. Gladstone Management Corporation is the Company�s investment adviser. Gladstone Administration, LLC is the Company�s administrator. As of September 30, 2011, the Company held nine and six Control investments. In January 2011, the Company purchased a controlling interest of Sunshine Media Holdings. In July, 2011, the Company purchased a controlling interest in the equity securities of Viapack, Inc., which is a manufacturer of polyethylene film.
