iRobot Corporation is engaged in designing and building robots. The Company sells its products through sales channels to the consumer, defense and security, telemedicine and video collaboration markets. It operates through two segments: the home robots business, and the defense and security robots business. Its home robots segment offers products to consumers through a network of retail businesses across the United States, to various countries through international distributors and retailers, and through the Company's online store. Its home robots business unit includes mobile robots used in the maintenance of households. Its defense and security robots segment offers products to the United States Department of Defense through the United States Government-focused sales force, and to other North American and international entities. Its defense and security robots are used to manage warfighters', law enforcement, security forces, and first responders' safety and productivity.
