Jamba, Inc.(Jamba) is a holding company, which owns and franchises Jamba Juice stores through its wholly owned subsidiary, Jamba Juice Company. Jamba Juice Company is a restaurant retailer of better-for-you beverage and food offerings, including fruit smoothies, juices and teas, hot oatmeal made with organic steel cut oats, probiotic fruit and yogurt blends, Whirl�ns frozen yogurt, wraps, salads, sandwiches, California Flatbreads, and a variety of baked goods and snacks. As of December 28, 2010, there were 743 Jamba Juice locations consisting of 351 company-owned and operated stores and 392 franchise stores operating in 23 states and the Bahamas. Of the 743 locations, 391 stores are located in California, of which 293 are Company Stores and 98 are Franchise Stores. During the fiscal year ended December 28, 2010, Franchisees opened 30 new Franchise Stores, closed four Franchise Stores, and acquired 105 Company Stores, which are operated as Franchise Stores in refranchising transactions.
