Description

Kaiser Aluminum Corporation is engaged in the production of semi-fabricated specialty aluminum products. The Companys operations consist of one segment in the aluminum industry, Fabricated Products. It owns a 49% interest in Anglesey Aluminium Limited. In addition to the Fabricated Products segment, it has three other business units, which consist of Secondary Aluminum, Hedging, and Corporate and Other. Secondary Aluminum business unit sells value-added products, such as ingot and billet, produced from Anglesey, for which the Company receives a portion of a over normal commodity market prices. Its Hedging business unit conducts hedging activities primarily in respect of its exposure to metal price risks related to its firm-price customer sales contracts. It manufactures rolled, extruded, and drawn aluminum products to serve four end market segments: aerospace and high strength products, general engineering products, extrusions for automotive applications and other industrial products.
